Why this film matters
Clothes of Deception adapts a story Odair Faléco says he heard in a lecture years ago: two people enter the same water and are perceived differently when they come out. Faléco deliberately went against the drive toward realistic performance and effects, choosing minimal compositions and meditative pacing modelled on Japanese painting.
It was among the finalists of ITU’s AI for Good Film Festival 2025, whose announcement reads it as a critique of judging people by appearance.
