Why follow this filmmaker

Jonathan Perry is credited as writer and director of Railbound, released on the Muybridge channel. A 2022 Ironton Tribune profile describes him as an Ohio-born director whose feature Subnivean was acquired by Amazon Prime Video, and says he had founded Muybridge Inc. as a production company.

Railbound starts from an existing body of photographs, Mike Brodie’s images of young freight-train riders, instead of generating an invented world. The ADC entry describes the approach as using AI as a “temporal tool” to set those photographs in motion. Alex Naghavi is credited as visual director and AI artist, and the film was made during the Google Labs Flow Sessions residency. It won its documentary category in Chroma Awards Season 1. Perry’s wider filmography is not reviewed here.
