Why follow this artist
Didi OK, also known as Jiaze Li, builds films around rules with consequences. In Website, watching news can change reality; in Candy, harming someone can turn the perpetrator into sweets. The attraction is the dramatic question those rules create: what happens when familiar human impulses acquire unfamiliar consequences?
This is a developing body of work, rather than a single visual stunt. Waste to Energy extends his speculative storytelling into a series built around a night-shift worker and the objects arriving at a waste plant. Its recurring workplace gives the strange events a stable dramatic setting.
Craft and collaborators
Li credits editor TzuJung Lin and VFX collaborator Zhetao Huang on Waste to Energy, and names both as collaborators on Website. Those credits matter: a strongly authored film need not be a one-person production. His published tool choices are recorded on the individual film pages; a tool used on one project should not be assumed to have been used on every other film.
Website received the Reply AI Studios Grand Prix and WeShort Community Award in 2026. These are Reply AI Film Festival awards, not awards in the Venice Film Festival’s main competition. The films’ conceptual premises and sustained output are our reasons for following Li; the prizes are additional context.
