Utopai lists Space Nation in production for 2027, with eight planned episodes of approximately 45–60 minutes. That specification is not a measured pilot runtime.
Why it matters
An ensemble under military pressure provides a sustained test of performance, geography and character continuity. Its co-production and distribution context makes it useful to follow as a television project with delivery obligations beyond a concept reel.
Utopai names Martin Weisz as director, Marco Weber as co-creator, Vanessa Coifman and Weisz as writers, and Weber/Coifman as executive producers. Co-production includes Ex Machina, Utopai and Globoplay; K5 handles worldwide sales. These named collaborators are not a full crew count. Exact generation tools and budget are undisclosed.
The October 9 Variety report quotes K5’s Daniel Baur on a completed pilot and announces buyer screenings on October 12–13 at Cinéma Les Arcades. This supports a delivery milestone, not a claim of public streaming, independently confirmed screenings or a newly closed sale. The report credits Coifman as writer, while the studio also credits Weisz; both attributions are preserved rather than silently resolved.
