Why this film matters
Lilies is a small, dialogue-scaled drama: two strangers at a funeral that turns out to be the wrong one, and a shared decision not to find out more. The maker frames it as a film about the kindness of strangers and the things better left unknown. Its interest lies in restraint and facial performance rather than spectacle, which is exactly where generated characters are most easily exposed.
OMNI International AI Film Festival gave it the OMNI Golden AI Performance award at OMNI 1.5 Hyperphantasia in Sydney on July 3, 2026. Earlier, Big Screen Hack ranked it first in its Cannes 2026 film track.
Production evidence
The 48-hour schedule, solo team and tool chain come from Muja Studios’ release and from the process notes on Big Screen Hack’s upload, and are attributed to them. Budget is not disclosed. The journal checked both listings and the festival result; it has not watched the complete film.
