Kira, created and directed by Damien Steck and Julien Petit, is an Ex Machina production represented by K5. The current trade report describes a planned six-part, 35-minute format; that is not the verified runtime of its pilot.
Why it matters
The living planet Djena creates a useful dramatic constraint: Kira’s search for her father must remain legible while the surrounding landscape changes. Sustained spatial and character continuity will matter more than individual spectacular images.
K5’s October statement describes a completed pilot alongside Space Nation and planned MIPCOM buyer screenings. No public full-episode player or independent account of the actual screenings was verified. The collection therefore preserves Coming soon status.
The October report adds Moritz Weber to Steck and Petit’s writing credits and names Marco Weber as executive producer. Exact tools, budget and total team remain undisclosed. The image is explicitly an announcement-era concept, not proof of a completed scene or a critical viewing.
