Why follow this filmmaker

Abdalla’s channel describes him as an Egyptian-American filmmaker and artist based in New York whose work explores identity, cultural heritage and human connection. The Morisca, the 2026 Austin AI Film Festival Short Film winner, approaches the expulsion of Spain’s Moriscos through one musician’s search for her brother. His October 2026 upload Deir Yassin turns to the 1948 massacre through a mother explaining her daughter’s name.

Both works use intimate, single-figure framings for histories of erasure. That shared approach is the reason to follow him, not a judgment on either finished film. Collaborators, tools and an X account have not been verified.
