Why follow this filmmaker
AI Film Festival Japan credits Jihyun Kim with FRIENDS, runner-up for its 2025 Outstanding AI Animation Award. A May 2026 Hankyung report identifies Kim as an AI director at Westworld’s Vision Creative Lab who directed FRIENDS and the science-fiction short WASTELAND, both released on TVING.
FRIENDS stretches an AI-animated family story to about 15 minutes around a dog, a boy and a robot caregiver, and the studio says its plot and direction were designed in advance. A personal portfolio, social handle, tools and budgets have not been established, so the festival listing serves as the public credit source.
