Why follow this filmmaker

Anne Horel describes her practice as an archaeology of collage. Partizan, which represents her, presents her as a multi-award-winning digital artist whose work has appeared in galleries, festivals and on social platforms, and who has made documentaries for Canal+, Disney and ARTE.

La Tisseuse d’Ombres turns that collage practice towards AI. She trained public-domain illustration models and mixed them with a model trained on her own selfies, making the essay’s machine Weaver partly a self-portrait. It won the WAIFF 2026 Press Prize, and its release also lists awards from the Artefact AI Film Festival and the ADC Awards.
