Why follow this artist
Kononov’s Dark Paradise is worth studying for the connection between finished film and working process. The project provides an 82-minute narrative alongside publicly offered production boards. That makes questions about references, iteration and shot construction more concrete than a list of favorite models.
The creator describes the film as a solo production made in a month. Treat that as his account of the work, not an independently audited productivity benchmark. Feature length establishes sustained production; it does not by itself establish successful storytelling.
What to look for
The useful question is whether the underlying references and decisions remain legible across a scene and across the film. The FlashBoards case study lists 21 boards and 2,085 items, including prompts, stills and footage. Item counts are not equivalent to finished shots. The linked X account is the production tool’s account, not a verified personal account for Kononov.
